Sunday Bulletin 10.18

This week’s theme is Love.

If you’re joining us for the first time, this weekly post is short and sweet. A chance to get organized for the week ahead and recharge a bit.

Life Hack::

iPhone Do Not Disturb. You may already know about this, but if you don’t, it’s a game changer. You can manually set, or automatically schedule a Do Not Disturb setting so you won’t get audible alerts during certain hours of day (or night). If you’re nervous about emergencies, you can program it to allow calls from certain people, or if someone calls you two times within three minutes, the call won’t be silenced.

My Week’s High and Low::She was love personalized.

  • High: Dillon is finally feeling better. Hooray!
  • Low: Um, Monday was hard. It got its own post: Encouragement For Today. 🙂

How was your week? I’d love to hear about it! Comment below or join the conversation on Facebook.

Faith-builder::

You are a personalized demonstration of God’s love for the people in your life. Don’t discount your role—even if your day is full of snotty noses, sweeping floors, and folding laundry. There’s no small impact in love, only small actions of great value.

Date Night Idea::

Themed Movie Nights! Pick a movie and enjoy cuisine to match. Sounds simple, cheesy even, but it makes even at-home date nights a bit more fun. The possibilities are endless!

  • Italian Job + Italian food
  • Three Amigos! + Mexican food
  • Lady and the Tramp + Spaghetti
  • Mulan + Chinese food
  • Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory or Chocolate + Have dessert for dinner. 🙂

Laughter::

Love Gilmore Girls? Me too! And trust me, you won’t want to miss this hilarious post from Jen Hatmaker.

Book of the Month::

This month’s book is The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. I’m still loving this book and our home is much easier to keep tidy now! I have found however that folding laundry does take a bit longer. On more than one occasion I’ve folded Jared and Dillon’s clothes and just shoved mine back in the basket to get to “later.” Are you using the KonMari method? Any tips to share?

Rest::

Please see the Life Hack from above. Seriously, I sleep so much better when I’m not lying in bed wondering if I should check a phone alert. 🙂

You’ve reached the end of the bulletin. Painless right? What does the week ahead have in store for you?
