Today I’m joining Amberly and some other amazing gals for a monthly linkup on Marriage & Relationship Goals.
The purpose of this linkup is to promote making intentional choices in our relationships and I’ve already been inspired so much by the goals shared by gals in past posts.
My marriage goals for the month of August are simple and while there’s a lot I could do, most themes boil down to two main objectives:
1. Express gratitude.
Jared is awesome. He’s amazing at helping out around the house, especially during these past few months of my pregnancy. While I think I do a pretty good job of thanking him for his efforts, I could do better. I want to become more aware of the small things he does throughout the day and to be more intentional in how I speak and demonstrate my gratitude. In addition to the things he does I also want to use the month of August to express gratitude for who he is. I will pay closer attention to the things I love about his character and personality and will make the effort to commend these attributes.
2. Intentionally prepare/plan for fun.
There’s a quote from Benjamin Franklin, “If you fail to plan, you’re planning to fail.” I’m pretty good at planning in other areas of my life, but I’ve realized I can be more intentional in planning for fun in my marriage. Sometimes this means planning my day so I’m not exhausted by date night, or planning more fun activities for me and my hubby rather than just crafting my honey-do list. I want to provide more opportunities for us to enjoy one another’s company this month, and that should be pretty easy ’cause we’re fun people. 😉
What are your marriage and relationship goals this month?
